The founder of Ananda Marga Prcaraka Samgha Srii Srii Anandamurtijii was born at Rampur railway quarter, Jamalpur, Bihar, in India, in 21st May 1921 in the holy day of Vaishaki Purnima (Buddha Purnima). He started Ananda Mara Pracaraka Samgha from Jamalpur in the year of 1955.

In 1963 Anandamurtijii established the Headquarter of Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha at Pundag of Garh Joypur, P.S. of Purulia district, W.B. The land was donated by the queen of Garh Joypur for different social service projects like School, College, Children’s Home, Hospital etc. Srii Srii Anandamurtijii named this place as Anandanagar.

In 1963 Ananda Marga Prcaraka Samgha is registered under W.B Society. Act. XXXVI of 1961. In the same year, ERAWS Department (Education Relief and Welfare Section) is established under Ananda Marga Prcaraka Samgha. Ananda Marga Schools started to be opened in different parts of India and abroad.

In 1968 Acarya Kashiishvarananda Avadhuta was posted in Tamluk Dit as Dits cum principal to open Ananda Marga Prcaraka Samgha unit and Ananda Marga School in Tamluk Dit, In Kolaghat Block at Kaurchandi in Purba Medinipur District of West Bengal, India. He registered the Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha unit at Kaurchandi and opened Ananda Marga School with 30 students in a rented house with the help of local margiis in April 1995. He formed an advisory committee with the following margiis.1). Narayan Poria (Kaurchandi) 2) Sulalit Mallick (Kaurchandi) 3) Bimal Poria (Kaurchandi), 5) Surajit Poria (Kaurchandi), 6) Lakshman Poria (Kaurchandi) 7) Asit Pandit(T.I.C)(Panskura). Slowly the school started growing with the help of the hard work of margiis, teacher-in-charges, and principals.
