The founder of Ananda Marga Prcaraka Samgha Srii Srii Anandamurtijii was born at Rampur railway quarter,Jamalpur, Bihar, in India, in 21st May 1921 in the holy day of Vaishaki Purnima (Buddha Purnima). He started Ananda Mara Pracaraka Samgha from Jamalpur in the year of 1955.
In 1963 Anandamurtijii established the Head quarter of Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha at Pundag of Garh Joypur, P.S. of Purulia district, W.B. The land was donated by the queen of Garh Joypur for different social service projects like School, College, Children’s Home, Hospital etc. Srii Srii Anandamurtijii named this place as Anandanagar.
In 1963 Ananda Marga Prcaraka Samgha is registered under W.B Society. Act. XXXVI of 1961. In the same year ERAWS Department (Education Relief and Welfare Section) is established under Ananda Marga Prcaraka Samgha. Ananda Marga Schools started to be opened in different parts of India and abroad.
ANANDA MARGA GURUKUL was established in 1988 and it is managed by the Pvt. Unaided. It is located in Rural area. It is located in RAINA-I block of BARDDHAMAN district of West Bengal. The school consists of Grades from 1 to 4. The school is Co-educational and it have an attached pre-primary section. The school is N/A in nature and is not using school building as a shift-school. English is the medium of instructions in this school. This school is approachable by all weather road. In this school academic session starts in April.
